AVIS history is a true success, because it is based on a commitment to Quality and our Clients. The company was founded in Detroit, Michigan, in 1946, thanks to the vision of its founder, the pilot and World War II veteran, Captain Warren Avis. After the war, he traveled constantly by plane because of his profession, where he noticed the lack of efficient means of transportation from airports to cities. This led him to create the company today known as Avis, which became the first rental car company located inside airports.
