VEHICLE RENTAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Age Requirements

The renter must be at least 21 years old and no older than 75 years old at the time of rental. Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is mandatory for drivers under 25 years of age.

2. Additional Drivers

All additional drivers must meet the same age and license requirements as the primary renter. A fee of USD $10.00 + VAT per day will be charged for each additional driver between the ages of 21 and 25.

3. Driver's License

A valid driver's license from the country of residence must be presented. An International Driving Permit is required if the original document does not use the Roman alphabet.

Digital licenses are not accepted.

4. Payment Methods

The renter must present a valid physical credit card in their name at the time of vehicle pick-up, with sufficient funds to cover the security deposit, which will be held for the duration of the rental period. The card must be enabled for international transactions, and the authorization PIN must be provided if required.

Only MasterCard, Visa, American Express, and Discover are accepted. Debit cards, digital or virtual cards, neobank cards, and electronic payment methods such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, or similar are not accepted.

The card will be used to cover the security deposit, which can range from $750.00 to $3,000.00, as well as any additional charges and costs related to the rental. The bank may apply fees for international transactions.

Travel vouchers are accepted with a minimum prepayment of one day, but a credit card is always required as a guarantee.

5. Vehicle Use

The vehicle must be used exclusively within the territory of El Salvador. Crossing international borders is strictly prohibited.

6. Fuel

The vehicle is delivered with a full tank and must be returned in the same condition, except for customers who purchase prepaid fuel.

No refunds will be issued for unused fuel.

7. Returns to Different Locations
Vehicles may be returned to other branches within the country. Additional charges may apply.

8. Coverage and Insurance

The available coverage includes both mandatory and optional coverage.  Additional Liability Insurance (ALI) is mandatory under El Salvador's tourism legislation and provides protection against damages to third parties within the established limits. Additionally, the renter may purchase optional coverages such as Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), Personal Accident Insurance (PAI), and Windscreen & Tire Coverage (WTC), which reduce or limit the renter's liability in case of damages, accidents, or specific events, depending on the coverage.

CDW is mandatory for drivers under 25 years of age. If the optional coverages are declined, the renter will assume full responsibility for damages, loss of the vehicle, accessories, and loss of use, especially if the vehicle is used in violation of the terms of the rental agreement.

Some credit cards and websites may offer coverage with limitations, so it is recommended to check directly with the issuer before renting and to take into account the mandatory Additional Third-Party Liability Insurance (ALI) described in this section. For more details on conditions, exclusions, and additional coverage, the customer should inquire directly at the rental counter at the time of rental.
